What is the purpose of this guide you ask? Apart from outlining the wide range of opportunities available to you through the Students' Union and College, this guide will highlight all the benefits you will gain through involvement in the Union life that you'd never even considered!

It is often said that going to university is about more than getting a degree; this is more true today than ever before. It is about learning through experience and developing a whole range of social and key transferable skills. By making the most of your time (outside of the lecture room, library and gym) you have the opportunity to enhance your 'employability' which will be essential for your future.
This Handbook has been developed so that every development opportunity here at the Students' Union is at your fingertips (literally). So, find what you're into, how to make the most of your time and get involved. Consider your future, and think: 'What can YOU do to stand out in the crowd?'
