         The Student Left is a political group based on the principles of:-

                                             Support for free education

                                             Opposition to military recuitment on campus/Freshers Fayres

                                             Support for student protests, occupations and other forms of struggle.

                                             Opposition to external companies on campus.

                                             Support for enviromentalism, Fair Trade and other ethical ventures.

 

     Members of the Student Left have led the way at Goldsmiths on campaigns such as Scholarest:Off Our Campus (an attempt to force college to take catering back in-house and kick unethical company Scholarest. part of the heavily exploitative Compass group. out of our University), the highly successful Palestine Twinning campaign and  fighting the attacks on student democracy that have been happening in Unions up and down the country in the form of 'governance reviews'.

 

         Already Planned Events: 'Education Teach-In' - An afternoon of lectures in collaboration with the Staff Union regarding the neo-liberalisation of higher education.
