Each year Goldsmiths Students' Union runs elections during the first term for students to democratically decide which students will attend NUS Conference in order to represent Goldsmiths.

Last year Goldsmiths NUS delegates played a key role in the 'Save NUS Democracy' campaign, defeating a motion at a student meeting last year which called for delegates to support the undemocratic proposals in the 'Governance Review' proposed by the right-wing of the NUS NEC. Goldsmiths students rejected these proposals on the basis that they abolished mandatory cross-campus elections, abolished conference replacing it with a 1 day 'Congress' with little decision making power and essentially would remove power from ordinary students by making the NUS structures totally inaccessible.
